Answer: The Koreans; they make up 35% of global Dram Market share. The Korean Won has declined to 1,703 per US Dollar. (Samsung;Hyundai;LG Semicon) are reducing inventory to help their cash crunch. Blue light special on 16 meg parts at $2.00. WoW!

The drop in spot prices was attributed to currency / solvency crisis in Korea ( Dow Jones News I beleieve was the source). The chip inventory could be converted to hard currencies and the old supply/demand price thing happened.
