Convergence is a huge issue but I do not see it being addresed by any of the networking companies. They are focusing on ISP's which is on the downward edge of the growth curve (late as usual). But the issues are huge. For your scenario's see below.

a: add XDSL
b: add 25Mbps LAN based video and Gigabit Ethernet
c: too much here to put on one line or one page. Clue's = SS7 offload, XDSL aggregation, etc.

You are correct about the convergence issue being real and important but it is just that Bay and competitors (regular old networking companies) just do not get it (IMHO) and have no solutions.

Now for the juice. Watch for YURI, which develops products for this market to soon be purchased for the technology. Just my opinion - don't bet the farm on this.
