I compared, informally, the CBOE equity put/call ratios during 2011, similar period,from late August until early November. This year is starting to resemble that, but will need to catch up with bigger ratios this month to make it really similar. This month needs to be a big painful to flush things out. I am expecting a significant runup between mid November and next May or so, and it would be best if this month scared some more people to setup for that. But, that's just my opinion, based on experience and a hunch.
