BTW the Brooklyn papyrus from the time of Sobekhotep III contain a long list of slave names, more than half of which are Apiru. Some of the names listed are Issachar, Menachem, Asher, and Shiphrah.

Shiphrah is the name of one of the midwives the Egyptians ordered to kill male Hebrew babies at birth. Is the Shiphrah named in the Brooklyn Papyrus the same Shiphrah in the Bible? Could be but we can't know. Even if not, this is confirmation of the Biblical story that early Israelites were enslaved in Egypt.
