SoundView said its chip analyst Scott Randall cut ratings for ADVANCED MICRO DEVICES INC and Intel Corp. Lowered AMD forecast for the 4Q to a loss of $0.09 a share from a previous forecast loss of $0.01. Cut AMD's fiscal 1998 forecast to $1.22 from $1.62. Ratings kept short- and long-term hold. Randall also cut estimates on INTEL CORP, cutting fiscal 1998 earnings per share estimates to $3.84 from $4.00. Ratings remain short-term hold, long-term buy, SoundView said.
