Yes it is strange, for after all the Bible never mentions the Jews ever returning in such great numbers to Egypt & worshipping along side of them. Guess the bad blood subsided after all that big to-do with the Moses affair, now we find them hiring out as mercenaries for the Pharoahs. I guess they really didn't want that fact ever noted, seems all later apologists just skip right over this happening, very selective memories like you.

These Jews had a god & female queen of heaven soul mate, some laws against murder, stealing & not worshipping any other gods, amazing that we find exactly the same laws almost 3,000yrs earlier written down in Egypt and even much much more.

They had laws about ritual animal sacrificing, what an amzing uniqueness there, everyone else had rituals and were sacrificing animals to. Something to do with infant ritual foreskin surgery, look anywhere else, primitive tribes had these kinds of markings of themselves as well.

They might have had some unleavened bread recipies because thats what every other primitive people baked anyways, except those Jews in Elephantine Egypt were probably eating better. Its still interesting that here we find Jews actually living in Egypt that far back, fighting for the Pharoah, guess no surprise that part gets left out of the bible. Josephus never mentions it, would have been bad press one guesses?
