That law strictly forbade any temples to be built outside of Jerusalem, so my theisis that prior to Babylonian exhile polytheism was common established practice is more than proved here by extra-biblical sources, and very good ones to. That monotheism you prattle on about was something that we only see them start to morph into post Babylonian exhile, which is too simple & flying over your head all along, but true.

Its really just simple logic, the only reason a group of refugee Jews living in Egypt would write down that their greatest god married a semetic godess, is because they took this belief from their semitic homeland with them. The fact such a temple shoud be built in Elephantine in the first place shows also it predated the law so must have originated in Babylon (who really cares?)

So as evolution is true, so it is true that the source origins for your religion, theology & cosmology descends down from Meopotamian, Assyrian, Egyptian, Babylonian, Persian & the Greeks. The Elphantine Papyrii only add the most clear admission of this late stage polytheism, which is simply all we need to know.

One god or many, well one god would be appropriate for a beaten down group of rag tag impoverished tribes. This emerging "law" demanding only one temple in one sacred city is a feature of many countless religions we have seen litter the landscape since the beginning of time. This couldn't be more stategically Darwinian, of centralizing control, creating unity (protection in organized numbers) by commanding obedience thru an entire array of psychological gambits, from fear to religious ecstacy.

All religions have this same basic Evolutionary function, did you think you were so special?

God makes a one-sided agreement with the birds and the animals not to destroy them! At this time he invents refraction of light through water droplets to make "rainbows"! This is so that he will not forget the agreement and destroy all the birds again in a fit of rage. Rain...clouds...rainbow? "Hey wait!! Don't destroy them all with a flood! Find another way! Let my Son figure something out!"

Well, the New Testament tells us of the solution that Jesus found! It is called eternal torture in Hell fire and gnashing of teeth and all that silly stuff!!

9 "I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you"

10 and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth."

11 I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth."

12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:"

13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth."

14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,"

15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life."

16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."

17 So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth."

So as evolution is true, so it is true that the source origins for your religion, theology & cosmology descends down from Meopotamian, Assyrian, Egyptian, Babylonian, Persian & the Greeks. The Elphantine Papyrii of the Egyptian temple settlements, just adds a clear admission of this late stage polytheism, which is simply all we need to know. Your monotheism has a far later emergence, only after contact with these larger more highly developed culturres.

One god or many, well one god would be appropriate for a beaten down group of impoverished tribes, all they could really afford to make & worship was one. In the far richer, evolved & developed cultures, they could support a pantheon of gods which also enriched their imaginations as well.

This emerging "law" demanding only one temple in one sacred city is a feature of many countless religions we have seen over the entire landscape of human cultures since the beginning of time. This couldn't be more strategically Darwinian, of centralizing control, creating unity (protection in organized numbers) by commanding obedience thru an entire array of psychological & sociological gambits, from fear to religious ecstacy & a sense of themsleves in time.

All religions have this same basic Evolutionary function, did you think you were so special?
