roni, thx for the reply... I hope your trip goes well... I just arrived at our cottage in No. Mich. and still adjusting to Eastern time zone... somehow I forgot that this is primarily a summer home (occasionally used in winter for ski trips)... certainly much cooler and damp (heavy rains) than San Diego and the heat/drought there... As for the IBM numbers, thx... those are quite enlightening and do *somewhat* support the assertions... if I get ambitious during downtime, I may crunch some numbers on what if IBM had returned those buyback dollars to shareholders instead -- will have to figure out how to separate them from natural cap gains that would accrue typically to any company that increased revenues/sales/etc. without doing buybacks.
