The Hellenic world was filled with shrines in various cities that focused on sacrifices. An issue of dispute in early Christianity was the question of eating meat that had been offered to pagan gods. It was often difficult to find meat that hadn't been sacrificed to idols:

In 1 Corinthians 10:25-32, Paul again emphasizes the believer’s liberty and what should limit that liberty. If you buy meat for your own use, don’t inquire where it came from; it doesn’t really matter whether it was sacrificed to an idol or not. “The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it” ( Psalm 24:1). However, if you are invited to dinner and someone there says, “This meat was offered to idols,” then graciously refrain from eating.

"Get that oxygen refill soon."

That is NOT going to help that stunted fellow! ;-)

He may still have the homo! But he has definitely lost the sapiens!

The truth is...if a commoner from ancient Athens were to arrive in Texas today, he or she would be so intellectually superior to Brum and the TROLL boy, that intelligible conversation would be out of reach! Wait a minute! Are you from Athens! :-)

I am serious, btw. Look at the memories and the speech making of those incredible minds with bodies? Hard to fathom...??

They would have euthanized a useless troll like Jellen---don't you think? Definitely in Sparta where such a useless spew boy would have been put in the front lines as a shield for the warriors? Not an insult and not intended as one. He is not that important. But useless people in those times were (paradoxically) put to use--weren't they??
