I run 16-Bit programs on my 64-Bit system using MS-DOS Player

zophar.net

This software runs programs that call on MS-DOS for support. It does NOT run programs that control your computer's hardware directly.

It's a tiny download, and it's fairly easy to use. If it does the job for you, it could save you a ton of effort.

Cheers, PW.

P.S.

If you bought your system with 64-Bit Windows 7 installed by the manufacturer, your hardware has the code burned into the BIOS to activate either 64-Bit or 32-Bit systems. All you need to do is grab a 32-Bit Windows 7 DVD. You can then install 32-Bit Windows 7, and it will activate. Your 64-Bit Product Key and Certificate will work.

You'll need the Product Key and Certificate from your current system. The easy way to get them is with the tiny utility Activation Backup and Restore.

directedge.us

Take the safe route and install a second operating system. That way, you can grab any bit's and pieces you need from your current system. (Of course, you're licensed for only one, so you'll need to deactivate one system to comply.)

You can download a 32-Bit Windows 7 (SP 1) DVD: msft.digitalrivercontent.net

Here's a 64-Bit Windows 7 (SP 1) DVD download: msft.digitalrivercontent.net

P.P.S. To deactivate a Windows system. . .

SLMGR /DLV

After the licence version window opens, make a note of your Activation ID for the next step. It should look like this: xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

Uninstall the Product Key with

SLMGR /UPK xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
