To all re story in Computer Reseller News on Dell losing pricing edge. Although I am one of the ones that thinks Dell may be having margin pressure, nevertheless this story should not be taken at face value. I work in the PR business and these stories are usually initiated by a vendor. In this case, it looks like Compaq talked to CRN about their internal pricing study. Then the reporters called other vendors who naturally said they are doing well against Dell. I'm sure Dell is indeed losing some accounts, but you can't tell from a story like this how many it really might be. Barbara

paul, cpq's prices are actually lower than that article indicates.. since a no name compnay with small volume can get a 5% discount from dell for signing a small volume contract....so 1 % isn't going to cut it... of course, since EVERYBODY ON THIS THREAD BUYS FROM DELL.. and they claim i don't...then isn't it strange they didn't mention this AND I DID <ggggg>
