As a general rule, manipulation in the way you mean it does not occur with stocks like MSFT and INTC, even during options expiration. The market is far too liquid (and far too closely watched) for any one MM or other entity to "manipulate" the market. Will a MM be in close touch with his options desk during an expiration--of course. But this is not something that you as a trader would need to be concerned with.
