certainly not helpful I tried to consistently use the two words, "awareness" and "self-awareness" to convey the differences in meaning. Do you think there is any difference between these two terms? Those are the words I would use professionally on the subject as my colleagues were interested in understanding and being understood.

when the consciousness of matter is the question in dispute.....That is not what is in dispute because it is a meaningless proposition & a dumbell question that only you & brumdum would stupidly repeat over & over again. There is the evolution of ----> brain matter <---- then it is easily seen how consciousness is an emergent property of sentient life with evolved nervous systems & brains.
