INTC is a great buy while the market is overly negative and before it rebound in February next year. Check out TLCM, SGI, ORCL, AMAT, HLIT, CSCO, SPTR, QNTM for recent great bottom stock buying opportunity for 50% yield by 2nd qtr of 1998. Happy investing:)

Paul Re "IT should be around as long as capitalism is."

That is why its PE is high. OTOH Intel's PE is low, reducing relative
risk.

There have been many times when people have suggested that
Intel is about to go out of business. At times the competitors
were relative giants. But it has conquered all.

The best and brightest minds in the world live in Silicon Valley and
are working with Intel on the future of computing - is it going to vanish
in 20 years? - IMHO not.

I have been worried short term for the company/economy because the turmoil in the market is sure to sap consumer confidence - that is going to reduce both home computer sales / and other non-essential
purchases. With Wall street's short-term mentality this
is risky because it could cause further selling - further
compounding the problem.

All IMHO
