I guess I missed something. I thought it was a complete irrelevancy that you popped into the thread for comic effect. You were asking him seriously?? He probably does not know that. You should probably make it clear that you really are prying into his personal and private being and let him know why. I thought it was a lark --that you were exploring for some comic effect. That is why I joined the fun and wondered about golfing abilities and other such "concerns" unrelated to arguments for and against the teaching of Science or mythology in Science class." If you were claiming to be an authoritative critic of golf, your handicap would be entirely relevant" Oh. Beg your pardon. I see where you are coming from: You are concerned that one cannot be "authoritative" unless one is religious? Do you mean that? I guess I would hold a completely different opinion. I would rather think that clear and reliable thinking on what ought to be taught in a Science class would be exhibited by one steeped in Mythology, World Religions, Education, and of course (and most importantly)--SCIENCE! 2MAR$ seems to have some familiarity in all these fields. Certainly, one need not be a Muslim to be studied in the religion and to form strong opinions. I believe I have heard rather strong opinions voiced by you?? One need not be a Christian White Supremacist to consider the impact of these people in our communities. Anyhow--perhaps 2MAR$ is merely annoyed at you and suspects (from some of your past comments) that you mean to insinuate unsavoury things about his character in order to demonise him? Hopefully, you would never stoop to such a thing. But perhaps I can assist your curiosity? I have noticed for years that 2MAR$ has always revered good and great people such as Einstein and Epictetus--while finding great things to admire in humanism and humanists. He expresses these values pretty much on a daily basis: a real benevolence and respect for the world and its people. Not that this is "religious", but many people are not religious--right."Humanism offers the Arts, Philosophies & Sciences which is quite vast and there are a plethora of great historical & living figures from which to draw inspiration from & emulate." ~~2MAR$"The new trend is towards Science & tech period with great overtones of ongoing Humanism & Pantheism ...the Creationist can have a say but they better hit the books & hit them soon...and the Arab Spring is also hitting the ME and those "God Based" groups will show themselves up soon enough to be only so ineffective & out of touch ." ~~2MAR$ It is probably rude to be discussing someone's world view across him--but perhaps he will forgive. He has shown himself to be very tolerant. I would guess he is a humanist who allows for a possible pantheism as set out by Spinoza. I am probably wrong and in any event it is irrelevant. You are right! Both of us should probably mind our own business!"Even more suspect would be if you had your caddy fend off the question for you." I don't get that? He said nothing to me. I thought your question was a sinister insinuation. I won't bother the thread with the trail that led me to that suspicion. He may have felt that to respond to you would be to stoop? And perhaps that is what I am doing? 2MAR$ has always expressed a benevolence toward our planet and the people in it. I appreciate that he values human rights and freedoms and always celebrates the diversity of people! If his only "crime" is not giving money to one of the 40,000 Christian sects, then I forgive him wholeheartedly! Anyway--enough about him! What do you believe? Honestly--please share. How old is the earth? I have not hidden a single one of my beliefs from this thread. Can horses fly? I say, NO. Not unless they have a ticket!
