>Was it Emerson or Thoreau who said, "Diversify, diversify"?<

Mark Twain was probably a better authority on the stock market than Emerson or Thoreau. He lost a fortune, when money was worth a lot more then than it's worth today.

OFF TOPIC

Diversification may be the rule or what is taught. But look at the wealth in this country.

The wealthiest are those that have worked hard and did not diversify in 30 different sectors to protect themselves from a downturn in the market. They believed in themselves/products and kept the face in the mud until they achieved their goals. Name me one successful person in life who has never failed at some time in their lives.

The flip side is if you are wrong:) The demand is still their for dds and as long as storage is necessary the dd industry will come back and possibly with a vengance. Remember why the tech stocks are getting hammered (Asia). Does anyone really believe that the world's superpowers (economic) are not doing everything in their power to avert an "economic meltdown" in Asia. Look at the news from last night. Korea is taking the first step with guidance from the IMF and we will have to wait until tomorrow for the news on Japan's economic plan. I am not stating everything will be alright by this Firday but just stating the govns around the world have no interest in seeing the Asian crisis continue.

Techs got hit (I think unfairly) hard when the bad news in Asia started coming out. IMO the techs will lead the surge when the good news starts rolling out.

With that being said, I just hope (if nothing else) that the tech stocks as a minimum are bottoming out as the worst may be over. If not, then the likelyhood of me selling peanuts on the side of the road looks brighter and brighter:)
