"If a person seeks God and has goodwill, then who am I to judge?"

The Catholic Church is carefully pragmatic. They keep themselves relevant by allowing themselves to slowly be persuaded by social mores. It reminds me of how Doyle Brunson plays poker. He will push his own hand as though it were an accomplished fact...UNTIL THE OTHER PLAYER PUSHES BACK! Then he will start playing the actual hand for what it is worth in the situation.

The Catholic Church pushes church agenda--until society outflanks them on some major issue and they are forced to take a pragmatic compromise. It was not always so, but with the State nicely insulated from the church in our secular political system...they have learned to survive.

The Fundies on the other hand have no sense in this regard. They are as babies to the ONE TRUE CHURCH! They have survived nothing! They cannot see the forest as they are all piddling around on one tree and making a lot of noise selling magic hair and Holy Water that some actor did a schizophrenic "switch" on to make it powerful!

"Jesus, please SWITCH this water into something magical and powerful with Divine Authority! Then please help our sales team to peddle the damn stuff! Baby needs new shoes!"
