I seem to have mis-stated my conclusion. Instead of saying .059%, I should have stated 5.9%. However, the stated results in dollars remains the same.

The days of extreme tax havens are numbered, however it is unlikely that Ireland will give up their incentives so easily, as it would no longer be expeditious for these companies to stay there and cause irreparable harm to their economy. In some ways, the situation is somewhat analogous to the middle eastern oil cartel. While on the surface the cartel wants a level playing field for all its members, it is really looking out for its strongest members, and in doing so denies the natural competition that is taking place. Since the European Union is not a state, its control over member states is limited. I don't believe they'll have much success in wiping out the smaller states' attempts to compete for corporation $$$'s.
