Abiogenesis is probably the equivalent of a big bang but in biology, did that happen? Yes within 99.999999% assurity life emerged on this planet (or someplace else), just get out, just look around to see life is there all around. It certainly came from some where...

I would go with abiogenesis 99% earth generated, its all there, everyone knows it happened, we're just going to take a little more time figuring it out. But that's a good thing, life is far more wonderful with mysteries in it.

I had a neighbor who made a go-cart from some steel tubes, a lawnmower engine, and a golf cart differential.

That exercise did not prove that at one time people did not know how to make steel, or engines, or gears. It just means he started his project way down the technological timeline from making fire.
