Teddy: OT Drillers - what's wrong with the stocks?

(All my opinion)

They were favorites of the mo-mo/hedge fund crowd all year

Most are or were up 100% or more when the selling started

Profit taking had to occur, especially with losses in the tech sector and year end selling

They were a tempting target for short sellers

I thought the consensus was WAY too bullish, especially among the public (a mistake I made myself with IOM in the past few weeks)

Plus, I remember one Saturday asking you for a 10 point long trade and then looking at 15 or so driller charts. All looked like great shorts, not longs. So it was just a matter of picking which ones.

I told you that NE would go back to 28 or less and you didn't believe me. That's ok - I don't want to believe people when they're saying things I don't want to hear.

All that being said, I have seen a commitment of traders report which tells me this carnage may be nearing an end. So, hang in there and if you get good deals and have the money, think about averaging down your positions.

Good luck.
