Again, I'll give you one more try--->So what?

That would all be in perfect accord with the idea of cultural evolution.

The exposure the Hebrews had in Babylon to formal religion on an imperial scale , i just noted for you. The point is simple & not a thing to do Babylonian's worshipping false gods or true gods but that it served as a template/lesson for the less sophisticated Hebrew group for setting up their own priest caste-system we clearly see them doing finally when returning to Jerusalem.

Now let me post this to you ----> This has less to do with any true god, than the materialistic territorial mindset of that scattered, completely tribal dominated part of the world of the ME. But thankfully for you that great 'other worldly idealism' so eloquently expounded by Greek philosophers served as a template & came to those early Christian's rescue. (or they would have sounded complete fools)

The best of the best in your religion was taken from the pagan philosophers, even your original bible was written in Greek, by then the sentiments of grace had infused into the Hebrew consciousness after contact with the Hellene presence starting 320BC & their passions for life started to alter & pacify the Hebrews.

Paul spends the last half of his life bending over backwards, sounding like neoplatonist philosopher, distancing himself, making apologetics up as fast as the twelve disciples ran away from Jerusalem when their master was being crucified.

They couldn't run fast enough we note, or deny everything he taught them or even knowing him.
