Sounds good to me.

Americans simply lost touch with being sensible, getting caught up in conceptual rhetoric which has nothing to do with reality.

Many folks said they wanted to "kill the beast" without fully realizing that this meant their Social Security and Medicare benefits. The very idea that America and Russia are the only industrialized nations which can't afford these programs, and in fact universal medicare coverage for all citizens is just nonsense.

I have admire LBJ for blackmailing Jesse Helms into signing the Civil Rights Act, but his "war on poverty" was as crazy as anything Reagan dreamed up.
