That's incorrect... as its a plot that applies to the known Zaire strain. The current outbreak isn't the Zaire strain, but has a DNA profile that is only 95% consistent with Zaire strain. The current outbreak appears to have a lower mortality rate... but is significantly more contagious... which is why you keep seeing hospital people being infected, in spite of them supposedly knowing how to avoid being infected.

The "experts" who keep claiming preventive measures that have worked for Zaire strain are adequate... are the reason that health care workers keep contracting ebola.

Too early to declare definitive data for the new strain... but it is clear enough that it is significantly more virulent and measurably less fatal than Zaire strain...
