I don't necessarily disagree with your analysis, because you caveat your hypothesis with words like "normal" & now "most of the time." You appear to be an index trader, so your comments a viewed from a market rather than individual stock perspective.

My point is if you want to trade ORCL, even for a week, you run the risk (or benefit) that it will deviate beyond the correlative relationship you state. Bottom line, if you believe in the hypothesis, then trade the Dow index. Why trade ORCL?
