The hardest thing, from a usability perspective, we've had to deal with on that project is getting away from the folders metaphor. We needed to have a hierarchical system of storing things, but didn't want to use folders and the hope was to simplify it. I don't know yet if we met that objective. The therapists like it but I'm not honestly crazy about what we came up with (I guess they're what matters). At the end of the day there are not a lot of options for doing away with UNIX concept of folders that contain files and other folders.

Exactly.

I'm looking forward to getting the book. These days I'm finding a lot of value in older books, ones that have been around for a while, even though the tech has changed. If a book can still hold up after the technology moves on, that is a pretty good indicator it is a winner.

Hi Doren,

Just wanted to say thanks for teaching me about the ishihara color blind test.

I'm badly colorblind with a red/green deficiency.

When younger I did not know it and it was very frustrating.

I'd color a lion blue when it called for coloring it purple - to my eyes purple is dark blue.

I eventually found out about my color blindness when I washed out of the Air Force Academy.

They showed me 14 slides and I was allowed to miss 4.In reality I missed 8 - so I was not allowed to attend the academy.

I find hunting particularly frustrating and hard to see what many pick up much quicker than I.

Thanks for teaching me something about my condition!

Bob

If there was ever a pill I would take to cure it - I would be the first in line !!!
