I am really rather astounded at some of the posts I have seen in the last couple of days. Somebody said something similar to Liberals being mentally defective? I remember that our resident water boy (who repeatedly and adamently denies reading these posts he can't handle!) recommended that ugly bit of bigotry. How sad. And then similar idiocies were repeated by people who clearly have some profound problems. Now I share values from both Republicans and Liberals: I hope none of the bad ones. It happens I have never voted Liberal because in Canada they have had more than their share of leadership during the years--and this will obviously degrade Conservative values, such as having a strong defense. I think somebody you might have heard of once called it "walk softly but carry a big stick!" Anyhow, I digress. I am a Free Thinker so I vote who is best for our country at any one point in time. I certainly don't hate any of our parties or their proponents (we have 3 very competitive parties here). So when I heard a bunch of people smugly and rudely proclaiming they hated Liberals--it struck me as being both vulgar and contemptible. Firstly, in what is basically a 2 party system, this means that these bigots hate about half of their population. I don't say disagree with--I say, HATE. In most cases this means they hate family members or extended family just because of the way they vote in a democracy and a free Republic. It also means they hate Thousands and thousands of military men and women who risk their lives and give their lives so these people can angrily denounce them and tell us how "mentally defective" they are--and how much hate and contempt they have for them. The parents of these obviously anti-social and abnormal people must really Be ashamed? I wonder if they even know how these sons and daughters express their bigoted hatred on these threads???
