Wait, did you just admit Mann had the long term signal wrong? "it may be that Mann et al simply don't have the long-term trend right"; This was true at the time. No. I said some had that doubt at that time (2000), but that doubts been resolved by the subsequent studies. Mann might not have gotten it right. That was certainly a possibility, if not a hope. That's why they did the rest of the studies; to see if he did. Turns out, they were wrong, and Mann was right. Science marches on.
