$4.4m+ contract with the Canadian federal government Thanks Mark, here's the full release DECEMBER 16, 1997 CGI Signs $4.4 Million Year 2000 Contract With Public Works Government Services Canada MONTREAL, QUEBEC--The CGI Group today announced that it signed a $4.4 million contract to adapt the systems of Public Works Government Services Canada (PWGSC) to the year 2000. The three- year contract, which will begin shortly, may be extended for an additional two-year term, during which CGI would provide for the maintenance and evolution of the client's systems. This extension would increase the contract's total value to $7.4 million. "We are pleased that PWGSC chose CGI to ensure its systems' compliance with year 2000 requirements," said Jean Brassard, CGI's President and COO. "CGI has wide ranging capabilities in year 2000 applications conversion. Also, this contract will further enhance our recognized expertise in areas related to the Federal Government's financial systems."
