A CD contians about 750 MegaB as far as I can remember. I think SNDK are planning in the immediate future an 84Mgbt Flash Memory card and with more to come. It seems to me that within a year we would be able to see something in the hundreds and at the same time we'll see more advances in compression.

Therefore we could be on the threashold of being able to hold a CD on a CF card. Clearly I don't think you would sell CDs on CF to start with until the price comes down but you might use it to buy and with a download and then upload at home and to carry a small replay device for playback.
