ORCL is a typical "follow the DOW" stock thats why I play with it..."

Doesn't the Dow consist of a basket of stocks that are perceived leaders from different sectors of the industrial economy? How can a single technology stock mirror the Dow?

. . . unless the book's hypothesis believes ORCL's products & services are so entrenched in today's economy that it impacts, as well as is affected, by ALL sectors of the economy found in the Dow. But if you follow such hypothesis, then the Dow would have followed ORCL's 29% fall last week. Obviously, perceived company fundamentals are at play here, not the Dow.
