Trading the VIX is really a crapshoot trade, I would not recommend trading it only to follow to evaluate directions. In general the markets enter now a high volatility period after the big boys re-arranged the deck but I am not sure at this time any one knows what future will bring. The world is slowing down the credit bubble is expanding to pre-2007 size and that was the main reason the FED stopped their QE, US economy is not as healthy as some pretend and elections are around the corner.
