the issue is unsolvable IMHO and it has to do with the present situation in the ME. Abnormal Arab state (statelet) west of the river Jordan is pure suicide for Israel. Any demilitarization agreement will not be worth the paper is written on. Best example is what happened to Ukraine. ... and who really cares about Ukraine? NO ONE!! The difference is that somewhere between Tel Aviv and Haifa the width of the country from the sea to the proposed border is a mere 12 to 15 miles and in which area live around 3,5 million people = having such a country with hostile neighbors is insanity and suicidal. There is the balfour declaration that was ratified by US congress in 1922 and the Arabs that call themselves palestinians receive the country East of the Jordan River But this does not justify the conduct I mention in my previous post.
