Bruce - just a minor point but Pt is not widely used in electronics. Maybe spark plugs. Gold is widely used in electronics.

Much of my concern is that the Pt used in cars is for catalytic converters. If there is a non-Pt converter, it COULD have some impact on just what level of recovery is economic. Not likely, though.

BTW, I think it only logical that there will be a very strong assay and recovery process for Pt very soon. Nothing else fits the scenario, despite the jeerleaders, for whom I am accumulating Christmas lumps of coal.
