Indeed the writers are not getting rich from the articles but for a few who write a lot, have thousands of followers and have hundreds of comments as coming back for a comment gives them extra page hits. Many of the authors write for the exposure where SA has links to their websites, newsletters and money management firms. I like to write about SPY there as it shows a documented paper trail that I've been consistent with that ETF (or its Vanguard index fund) as something I've recommended as the largest holdings in my newsletter core portfolios. I agree about the value of comments and discussion which is why I like to hear the summaries here and what people I respect have to say about it. There is a TON of noise on SA so the SNR is much better here.
