While I'm at it, Byte Jan issue also had NC survey by Zona Research of 137 senior level IT decision makers across spectrum from large to small companies. Only 15% said they planned to deploy thin-client architectures in next 3 years. This is also consistent with other surveys I've seen. That's why I'm confused. This is too experimental a market for AAPL to become heavily involved with any time soon. Rich

Keep in mind that some Photoshop filters like Gaussian Blur have recently been hand tweeked and optimized for MMX with help from Intel. If I remember correctly, when Guassian blur is applied at higher pixel radius the performance on the Intel side drops significantly. I'll try to find the source of that article and post it here.

Real world it's very important. You sit and wait to see it the blur settings are correct, if they're not then you reset and rewait. Most graphics people can't get enough speed. If your time is worth $50 per hour it becomes very attractive to spend 20 or 30 tax deductable hours to save 60 to 100 profitable hours.
