How popular was Bush when gas was under $2 and unemployment was 4%?

Back then, dems said the president doesn't control those things.

Normally, I would agree the president has only some influence on the economy. However, in Obama's case, he was faced with unusual circumstances..........the Great Recession. It was his actions/policies and steady hand that turned a listing ship around. His current unpopularity is almost solely attributable to the GOP's PR campaign against him.
