"But you are free to sit in churches & wait for magic signs from above, while listening to preachers fawningly imitate the pragmatic interpretations of Aristotelian instruction."

When I try to understand how ANYONE past 10 and not INSANE can read those savage old self-serving tales of contradiction, absurdity, nonsense, and primitive immorality...I can only shake my head in sincere bewilderment. What is the matter with the mechanism that moves thoughts around in their head??

The TROLL, of course, is just damaged from forever--poor kid. But Brum and Gregoreasy are like a whole lot of other people in their gullibility. Most superstitious people are not here on SI cursing and swearing and screaming hysterically in wounded rage. Because most people are not FUNDY FREAKS. Everyone on SI knows what Gregoreasy is from a dozen or so years of his ranting and raging and libellous behaviour. Either believe in his superstitious magic man in the sky or you are forever a target for his demented rage.

AIEEEEEE! He is mad--so mad. He must find himself a nunnery!

Good thing we are mature and can swat these punks around when we like, ignore them when we like, and simply laugh at them when we like!

The true origins of my religion? The resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The invented fables about Aristotle aren't the origin of my religion. That would be the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

But you are free to sit in churches & wait for magic signs from above, while listening to preachers fawningly imitate the pragmatic interpretations of Aristotelian instruction.

Foolish little mocker of things you don't understand. I've never heard a preacher imitate any of your Greek pedophiles. But I have had answers to prayer LITERALLY knock on my front door.

You guys have an INTERESTING 2 years ahead...

"President Obama on Wednesday afternoon will hold a news conference to offer his first public comments since Republicans seized control of the Senate and increased their numbers in the House and governors’ mansions.

The president’s appearance, scheduled for 2:50 p.m., according to the White House. It will be the first evidence of how Mr. Obama intends to deal with his newly empowered adversaries on Capitol Hill. A conciliatory and humble tone could signal that he’s prepared to compromise in the interests of easing the bitter stalemate that has gripped Washington for much of his term.

But Mr. Obama could take a more confrontational tone, promising to continue fighting for policies that Republicans have long rejected, betting that he won’t get cooperation from the other party no matter what he does. That could include vowing to move ahead with executive actions to overhaul the nation’s immigration laws without congressional approval.

If he takes that approach, the next two years in Washington could be especially acrimonious as both parties struggle for advantage even as a presidential campaign approaches in 2016."
