Tunica, I agree. My bet is that these set-top boxes are being targeted for homes which currently do not have PCs because the cost is too high. Or, a PC for family use. In other words, another way to "expand the market" for Intel and others. A WEB/TV type appliance around $300 makes it more feasible. I agree that those people accustomed to working on their laptops or PCs might find it awkward to use...I would think I'm playing Nintendo again.

From intel's withdraw from cable modem and xDSL, I intend to think that currently there is NO viable alternative to analog modem. You can bet that intel is watching this market like hawk and has the full intent to dominate this market if it is economically viable. This market is too big to ignore. I will call it the second stage of information revolution.
