Sure, but not until you learn to comprehend. The question was not whether one can optimize for Pentium but whether one can optimize for AMD and that's not an option on most commercial compilers. The other point you missed was that even if one could optimize for the K6 you would have to support separate binaries. Finally, thank you for pointing out how silly Ali's argument was since that's what I was driving at the whole time.
