Joey, Agreed. But that doesn't address the issue of cable access to the internet. I understand that SI has a couple of T1 lines, (I think), but how does a connection to a cable provider make my access any faster? If there are thousands of people contending on the cable head-end going to diverse WWW sites, is that faster than my direct 56K connection to the local telco accessing the T1 connections at SI? There have been many times during peak hours when access to SI has been very slow. Will cable make this any better? From your post I think you now agree that cable does have to go out to the switched network for web access.
