I would say close to 100% of the homes there that have solar aperture have PV's now.

That was not true 15 to 20 years ago. Most power was generated by generators back then.

Not now.

Thankfully!

We have a number of Bald Eagles on the island now.

Didn't have to.

A number of them (including some Republican friends) have put up solar PV and solar thermal the last six or seven years. And a few have pure electric cars too now.

Once I showed them my off grid home a number of years ago they asked a lot of questions and after they did the math it was a "no brainer", especially today.

Most of these guys are grid tied. They don't have battery backup like I do.
