Remind you of anyone? They make pipsquick noises too. The Bushveld Rain Frog (breviceps adspersus) - These frogs spend most of their time in the underground and only ever emerge (after rain) to the surface in order to mate and feed.

Natural Selection

It's fascinating that they cannot swim like other frogs, they inflate into a ball and float instead of swimming. Mating is fairly unique too.
The short limbs make it hard for the male to grip onto a female.
