Rick:You said <<<It has been stated on this thread that all other DTaP vaccines, except Certiva, contain formaldehyde inactivated components and implied that the use of formaldehyde causes adverse events reactions. I just want to set the record straight by pointing out that both the diptheria and tetanus toxoid components of Certiva are FORMALDEHYDE inactivated.>>> I really don't understand what you are really trying to convey so all I can, do if it helps you any, is quote from a Company statement. "The Company's acellular pertussis vaccine which consists of a single, purified pertussis toxoid protein that has been irreversibly detoxified with hydrogen peroxide, is manufactured using technologies designed to reduce adverse reactions associated with existing whole-cell pertussis vaccines. This vaccine has been combined with vaccines for the prevention of diphtheria and tetanus to formulate a unique DTaP vaccine, Certiva. " Notice that the Company is only referring to the pertussis toxoid protein. That their manufacturing technologies were designed to reduce adverse reactions, and that part of the manufacturing technology which was worthy of mention was detoxifying with hydrogen peroxide, not with formaldehyde, as was used with the whole cell pertussis vaccines. DT by themselves apparently were not creating the adverse reactions. If SSI uses formaldehyde in the manufacturing process of the DT portion of Certiva, so be it . The whole-cell pertussis was what it appears NVX concluded was the problem with DTP. Apparently NVX's manufacturing technologies paid off. Certiva doesn't just reduce the the problems of serious adverse reactions, Certiva is the only DTaP vaccine that elliminated them completely. :-} , :-}, :-} Anyway you look at it Certiva just could become a "blockbuster" vaccine whether the Rick Strange's out there want to believe it or not. I would say Abbott Labs , Chiron/ Behring, and the Governments of Denmark and Sweden have done their homework. Given a little bit of time and they will make it happen. NVX has really put together an incredable team of some really heavy hitters. It is all GO. :-} It is all just a matter of time.
