Good stuff elmat!

I think their approach is working. A good example is HK cutting their capex significantly.

I do not think the US in any way will officially cooperate other than one could say the US government has cooperated in limiting fracking in some regions of the US. Just think if the US ever went all out to grow production. Perhaps we should check out Saudi funding of extremist green energy groups in the US.

I personally believe the Saudi's are going after Putin (for supporting Assad) and Iran (for pursuing the bomb).

It will be interesting to see what other collateral damage occurs. I suspect Vz will be the canary in the coal mine to watch for collateral damage indications.

Agree with all your post. The one thing I'd add, is that neither the U.S. government, nor the Saudis, are going to be able to control events. They think they can; they have their plans and goals....the usual arrogance....but there will be unexpected consequences nobody planned, and nobody wants. Low oil prices will place a list of countries under severe economic stress. Economic stress always causes political and military stress. The U.S. may be happy to see Russia and Iran suffering, but what about Mexico, Nigeria, Indonesia? Those nations are full of suffering, angry, alienated young men with no prospects in life (= cannon fodder for extreme social/political/religious solutions).
