"Washington and Jefferson were plutocratic idiots- and we shouldn't have listened to them-"

Maybe we didn't listen well enuf.

"It was a stupid war, fought for the benefit of the rich, and we should have just stayed a colony."

LMAO. So England could use our troops for cannon fodder in their wars? We wouldn't have entered WW1 in and WW2 in '41; it would have been 1914 and 1939, and a lot more "colonists" would be dead. That's what colonies do; die for king or queen and country.

When the United Kingdom (UK) declared war on Nazi Germany at the outset of World War II, it controlled, to varying degrees, many crown colonies, protectorates across the world and the Indian Empire. The UK also maintained unique political ties to four independent dominions: Australia, Canada, South Africa and New Zealand. The fifth dominion at the time, Ireland, remained neutral throughout the war.

We would have fought France in 1793. We would have fought the Irish. Then we would fight Napoleon...

" I'm 100% in agreement on the stupidity of the revolutionary war. Thanks for bringing that up"

Not at all; it gives me a chance to point out the dangers of doing nothing, and the pitfalls of trying to create alternate histories.

Sorta surprised that you seem to be totally in the dark as to why there was a brain drain from England that resulted in this nation happening at all

The motivation wasn't to simply push off for the other side of the world to come over here and grow gardens

..folks were being slaughtered in Jolly Old if they had issues with the religion du jour

..they weren't drawn here, they were pushed, and they wanted change, which would not have happened as a colony

ergo Revolucion..
