That's as clear as it is that the main reason the civil war was fought was to free the slaves and that we fought in Viet Nam, Kuwait and Iraq to "help the people".

Also, I'll have to disagree that Russia wasn't a mistake. It might have been Hitler's plan to attack Russia but it was surely a strategic mistake to have attacked Russia before he'd consolidated his hold on the neighboring nations and then defeated Britain.

Of course he may have felt his hand was forced by the prospect of betrayal from his "ally" Russia.

And "his own side" that tried to take him out didn't do so because he was too cautious but rather because he was destroying Germany with his reckless aggression. Ed
