Or it most likely is that many of O's prior supporters are fed up with his policies and the way he is taking this country and they just decided to stay home as their vote. They did this in spite of the tremendous GOV that the dems have. I don't think that is accurate. Obama's base is made up of minorities...........whites mostly voted for McCain and Romney. I suspect blacks didn't show up because their president was told to stay on the side lines.......which was insulting to them. Latinos stayed home because Obama held off doing anything about immigration reform after Dems told him to hold off until after the election. The blame for the midterm fail is mostly on Dems; not Obama. The people generally opposed to Obama's policies are Rs and that probably encouraged their turnout.
