Well, we were scared by 9/11 and mad, so, even if we knew Saddam didn't have anything to do with it, we just wanted to use our bloated military to kick something, the dog, Saddam, most of us didn't really care. It was politically popular, so all the (D)'s but a few signed on.

As a deliberative people, we suck. It's really a shame we are the world's last superpower.

It's not as if Hitler was elected. We can make excuses for our tardy entrance to the war- but in the end, that's all they are, excuses. IMO when a country pushes out of its established boundaries- the entire community of nations must push back, and fast- in that way we teach countries they cannot usurp the sovereignty of other nations. That's why I supported Gulf War I (and not Gulf War 2.0). I do not think we should ever intervene in civil wars. What happens within a nation's borders, are its business- though if it gets really ugly, other nations can utilize economic sanctions- but I support nothing more than that.

I've always articulated this standard, and I see no reason to change it.

So, if I ever get the chance to mess with the timeline- you can expect a few changes....

And I remember the idiots cheering on the war. I argued with some of those morons right here on SI. I will never forgive the people who steered us in to such self destructive idiocy. I marched against the war, and did all I could to halt the stupidity- but obviously, The Shrub and his team of greedy loons had no intention of being halted- and so they squandered our soldiers' lives, and the taxpayers' wealth. I'd call it criminal, but that's not a strong enough word. Treason is what it was.
