Derek McLeish, MicroProse's senior vice president of marketing, commented, "Anyone who saw MechWarrior 3 at E3 will attest that it would be competitive in the market. However, we believe using Zipper's technology and game design will now allow us to exceed the expectations of MechWarrior fans and blow the competition away. MechWarrior 3 will be more than worth the wait." Key FASA Interactive staff working on MechWarrior 3 have been reassigned to other projects in development including Shadowrun: Assassin, BattleTech, MechWarrior 4 and the soon to be released MechCommander. $2 and pennies is a bargain for me...I will continue accumulating for the next 2-4 weeks. Came across this little blurb again from the GTIS announcement while re-reading everything in sight. It's one of my favorite blurbs from Louie, since it hints at other suitors approaching Microprose during the timeframe that it was released to the press wires. I especially like the sentence being plural, "...a number of strategic opportunities..." <<< Commenting on the announcement, Gilman G. Louie, Chairman of MicroProse, said, ''In evaluating a number of strategic opportunities available to us, MicroProse's Board of Directors and management agreed that this merger with GT Interactive provided the greatest potential benefits to MicroProse shareholders, employees, and customers. As continuing shareholders in GT Interactive, we all expect to benefit from our association with GT Interactive as participants in its future growth.''>>> biz.yahoo.com It's a gamble but it's possible another offer is lurking still in the background...just waiting for the "Dust to Settle" from this break-up. Since I can't even buy some of my favorite options this cheap...this stock appears very attractive to me for this type of play (less than a year). Time will tell! Happy Holidays everyone, Rich
