Working with the gov'ts to create new jobs, encouraging industries to locate auxiliary plants in those countries, putting pressure on govts to end corruption etc. Creating a hidden leg of employment in this country is not a solution to the long term problems of Central America.>. These people are in danger right now. What you suggest would take decades to effect, if ever. They will be dead by then and I am sure we will never do it anyway. Not realistic. What's more we, guys like Reagan and Bush, are responsible for a lot of the political and drug problems inherent in Central America as we (conservative Americans) supported (anti communist) gangsters for years down there which also caused the death of hundreds of thousands of people over the years.
